Bear with us, but this has been necessitated by the HUGE success of our spin-off page on Facebook.

"Fan-raiser" extended!

"Fan-raiser" extended! FB was glitchy last night, so we've extended the Fan-raiser to 48 hours from NOW. At that point, we will donate 2 cents to charity for however many fans we have above 29,631 (yesterday's number).

We'll give you a bit more time to suggest which charity it should be, but... after the first round, it looks like there's a LOT of support for our armed forces and veterans.

Fan-Raiser update

Everyone, based on the responses, we have decided to go with an amazing organization as our first fan-raiser recipient -- the USO. (FB page: http://tr.im/usofb).

On Friday morning, we will donate to the USO 2 cents for each fan we have above 29,631 - the number when we started. (full disclosure - we are not the USO, nor are we affiliated. We're just 2 guys who run this page, who think they're pretty amazing).

Sakonnet, Rhode Island...

June - what a great month to be in New England. Here's a day on the water in Sakonnet, Rhode Island...

Also: a few hr's into the "FanRaiser," we're up about 2,500 hundred fans ... which means we're giving the USO about fifty bucks so far. C'mon - you can make us donate a lot more than that! ;-)

Lots of time left on the clock - tonight, all day tomorrow, and clear thru to Friday morning. Invite your friends!

This picture was uploaded from a cell phone in Tehran. Meanwhile, Boston.com has assembled a powerful photo essay here: http://tr.im/oBO7 (warning: some of the images are a bit strong)

We salute the brave people in Tehran's streets who are standing up to the thugs who run their country.
